Tattoos over scars?

Hi Ladies. So over the summer when I've graduated I would like to get my first tattoo on my leg to cover up my self-harm scars and I'm just wondering if anyone else has tattoos covering scars? Do they ruin the tattoo or does it cover them well? It's going to be a meaningful tattoo for me and I don't want it to look crap because of scars under it 😕

Yes! All of my tattoos cover scars. You can still see raised area but tattoos look fine. Can you spot the scars?

My mother has a buttfly covering her left arm from her scars. She tells me she regrets it bc people ask about the tattoo to see and get to see the scars even closer and the ones more further up her wrist where the tattoo does not cover... i honestly have scars as well but i think having a tattoo would bring too much attention to it. But its all up to you, be strong xx

Many scars and many tattoos, you have to wait for the scars to heal enough or your artist will have a bad time getting the ink in. Helped me a lot to be frank.

I'm planning on getting one not over my scar but above it. One of my scars left from a suicide attempt is curved and I'm going to put two dots above it and make it a smiley face
