Baby dropping

I'm almost 37 weeks now and my little guy is still super high! Hasn't dropped at all but people still keep telling me they think he will be here before my due date... Not sure why?!  Have a doctors appt. tomorrow to see if I am dialated at all but I'm afraid I will get bad news of no signs of him coming anytime soon. Anyone else have experience with this? I'm trying to avoid being induced if possible just worried about a big baby... Runs in the family haha
