tattoo ideas????

So I want to get a tattoo for my 18th birthday in a year and I wanted to get one for my step mom who passed away last year. I need ideas tho. also how much it might hurt or prices maybe?? pls help in new at tattoos.

1. Find an artist you really like. Look through portfolios and reviews. Discuss with the artist what you're looking for - memorial tattoo - and go over things that remind her of you. Go over tattoos he or she has done that you really like and see if he or she can create something along those lines. If you're not 100% happy with the first thing he or she draws up, offer suggestions for changes you'd like made. Don't waste his or her time though.

2. Price is very specific to the artist and occasionally the shop. I spent $50 - $80 on small ones and $300 on a larger one and $250 for a four hour session. Don't forget to tip and tip well.

3. Pain is very specific to the person getting it. I wouldn't recommend wrist, abdomen, joints (knee, elbow, etc.) or foot for a first tattoo. I also wouldn't recommend a numbing cream or pain meds for bypassing pain. Everyone is different and I don't judge those that do it, I just think it's a dangerous route that isn't worth it.

4. On pain avoidance: numbing creams, while initially, can help - you're forcing your body to feel it all at once this way, and later. It can shock the system. It will hurt - not bad, I compare it to picking up a recently extinguished match by he fire end. Imagine rubbing that on your skin. But your body will react by releasing endorphins to deal with it. Then it becomes almost pleasant, in a way. If you use the cream, though, you won't feel as much but then your body can almost panic when it wears off. Depending on the cream, it can wear of mid-tattoo and you do not want to do that to yourself.

5. On pain meds: most pain meds thin your blood which will cause you to bleed a lot more than you should. Just don't do this.

it will hurt but it's honestly nothing, so many people have multiple. tattoos it's proof it's not bad! also, you have a lot of time! a whole year. I suggest not getting something EXACTLY from a picture or from another persons' body. you can ask a friend to draw or you can add stuff to an lready eisting design, search artists in your area so you know what you want can be achieved, and price is usually by hour (rarely by size) and is different from shop to shop

I would recommend finding something personal to you and your step mother. I have a tattoo for my step dad and it's a  little robin bird, which has a very specific sentiment to my dad. Prices will depend on the shop, the state, the size, all kinds of things. For something small like the bottom one you would probably get charged shop minimum which would also vary from shop to shop. An artist usually only charges strictly by the hour for larger pieces. If you go into a really good shop you might be looking at $80 - $100 for a shop minimum. The pain is going to depend on the placement of your tattoo, and your personal tolerance for pain. Eat before you go, stay hydrated, keep breathing properly (don't tense up) The pain is not going to be too bad if you go for any of these smaller designs. It'll be done before you know it. If you're going to get text done make sure it's a decent size otherwise it will become illegible over time, check out the artists portfolio.

I feel like you should get the last one (that's on lower back) but more personalized,. Like with things that make you remember her more.. Maybe get something like that with words around it?? & honestly it's not that bad.. It basically just feels like a burning feeling in a way but it definitely numbs.. I wouldn't worry too much about it 😁 these are mine btw.. At times some spots can be more sore but in the end it's worth it 😅

Yea should get an idea but make it your own as for prices that depends on how big or small it is and if your adding color also the hours depending on what place you go too as for the pain it's up to you depending on your pain tolerance usually mine is a 6 or 7 and I got my tattoo done on one of the painful places and it didn't really affect me at all didn't hurt just a shock when it first hit my skin

It took me a while to figure out what I wanted for my grandpaw who passed away. I got the last song I sang to him in his hand writing on my ribs. I'm skinny and my ribs were nothing. Didn't hurt at all.
