Can you tan or get spray tans while pregnant?

I've heard you can tan while pregnant as long as you don't get to hot. Is that true? Haven't been able to ask my doctor yet.

I go tanning☺️ only for 5-7 min at a time 3 days a week. Tanning itself cannot harm your baby. Only overheating can. If your body temp gets above 102 it is dangerous for both mom and baby. Which is why I keep it to only a few minutes!:) it'll take longer to see results. But it's not worth risking getting a high temp!☺️

I know for sure not in a tanning bed, but as for spray tan there are natural skin tanners that are ok. I know pintrest has a ton of all natural ingredient self tanners, you just have to really check what is on each specific list. But for professional spray tan I found out that sun tan city has an all natural based spray too, it is actually nut based, (almond I think?) My friend was very cautious and asked for the whole ingredient list at sun tan city and found out she was able to get sprayed once a month through her whole pregnancy!

No. You cannot tan while pregnant. Baby's in uterus are not capable of regulating body temperature, and can have several reactions to high body heat temperatures, including brain damage. Most tanning salons will not allow a pregnant woman to use their beds. As for a spray tan, the DHA has not been tested enough on pregnant woman to determine any dangers or side effects through skin absorption. Your best bet is to speak with your own doctor about it.

Tanning in a bed really is ok. Not recommended but it has no way of hurting a baby, you just have to make sure you don't get too hot. Obviously no dr is going to say ok to it because tanning is bad for you without pregnancy. I worked at a tanning salon for years while going through college. There is no physical way it can harm the baby (as long as you don't over heat)

Tanning is terrible for you even when your not pregnant but spray tans are ok, there's lots of options for organic and natural spray tans in salons now too.
