Misoprostol didn't work, afraid of d&c

I had a chemical in Nov about 5w. I got pregnant again in January, and Fri I should have been 9w2d but the ultrasound only showed 8w6d and no heartbeat.

I took a dose of misoprostol Fri and again sat, but only light spotting.

I am worried about a d&c. If I am not in danger medically, should I really have surgery? Will it drive me crazy trying to wait? My doctor is supportive of both options, and my husband is supporting whatever I want want to do.

Any suggestions?
