That my baby will be here before his due date? I'm 35 weeks and 50% effaced all my doctor said was that it's "a head start" that doesn't really tell me anything.

I was 2cm and 80% at 33 weeks. I didn't give birth until 37w5d. It's really hard to tell. But it may mean you won't have to  be induced

I was 3cm dilated  and 60% effaced at 37 weeks and went 3 days past my due date.

I have been 50% effaced since week 36, not dilated at all. I'm now 40+1 and exactly the same as I was 4 weeks ago...no dilation, 50% effaced:
