Do you let your newborn "cry it out"

Question

Do you ever let your newborn cry it out after you've checked absolutely everything that could be wrong with them? 
Literally my LO will eat, then I burp him, change diaper, maybe let him eat again to soothe him... Then I try to rock him to sleep and it seems like I absolutely can't do anything to get him to stop crying! It will be like 4AM and I literally can't hold him anymore or I'll fall asleep myself.

No....newborn does not understand cry it out. They have some sort of need to be met. Maybe more burping, gas, upset tummy, etc....comfort is a need to them at this stage.

No, no... They are too young for that. Newborns cannot self soothe this young, crying is there only way of communication. Your baby may just want to be held. And you cannot spoil a newborn. They need us to help them calm down. I have done the cry it out method with my kids but not when they were newborn.

Yes after baby has regained all birth weight  we did cry it or with our first.

Five minutes tops. And that's only if I'm busy or in the middle of cleaning something lol.

You should try changing up your routine. You shouldn't change them in the middle of a feeding that wakes the baby up more...try changing them first then feeding, burping, finish feeding and rock to sleep. Hopefully that will keep them from being over stimulated. Just an idea! Hang in there lady...it'll get better!

A good book to read is "12 hours sleep by 12 weeks". I started at 4 weeks with my son who's now 2 years old. Worked great and I am planning on doing the same in a few weeks with my DD
