Clomid and follicle confusion!

I recently took clomid 50mg day 2-6. I went for a follicle tracking scan on CD 10 and was advised AGAINST intercourse. 7 follicles were found (3 on one side 4 the other) they all measured 13 - 15 mm. I am confused as to why we were advised to "skip" this month. Surely 7 follicles preparing gives us a chance as my body will only release the egg from the most mature follicle? If anyone has had a similar experience and recieved a proper explanation I'd really like to here it! X
