I was reading a girls post on coughing and will it hurt her baby! And no one answered. Isn't this group to help each other??

I feel horrible for the girl who is wondering. I know I'm left with probably the same answers as her, witch is with no answers. So maybe my post someone can answer. Does coughing a lot hurt your baby or anything inside ?

I was actually encouraged to cough at both of my scans to get the baby to move into a better position for the ultrasound. I don't see why they'd encourage that if there's any harm in it. I think all it does is disturb the baby, but I can't see it causing harm :)

No. It may startle them if it happens suddenly but it doesn't hurt them... My sister is a chain smoke so she coughs constantly and one time she coughed her whole ultrasound and most I the time he was phased by it but one time he just jumped which let us see he was a boy. But it has no effect on the baby
