Irregular Cycles?

So when I was on the pill, while my husband and I were just dating, it made me regular. Now that we're married, it's really irregular. When he was deployed, it was pretty normal, only a day off, if at all. Now that he's home, my period is super wacky. 2 months ago I was 3 days late, last month 1 day late, and this month, 3 days early. We're TTC and I'm not sure what to do. Should I be taking ovulation tests to help?
