How do you know if your water breaks?

This is my 3rd baby but I never had my water break on its own before contractions. I've been having a discharge the past two days and I'm not sure why, could it be water or normal?

Hey there! So this just happened to me! Wednesday evening I had a tiny trickle that I really thought was pee, threw a pad on, and in the morning it was dry. No contractions, I wasn't feverish, and baby was moving just fine. Two days later at my ob appointment the doctor discovers a high slow leak in my membranes! Cue immediate induction and a very happy healthy little girl 12 hours later.

When in doubt, call. Always always always call your doctor. I didn't exhibit any usual symptoms, but by Friday little miss was almost out of amniotic fluid! We lucked out and there was no infection but I would err on the side of caution after this experience.

My water broke with my son but it was after the doctor was checking to see if i was dialated. I didnt feel anything when she checked but once i stood up water jus came out n kept coming n coming at first i thought i peed n couldnt control or stop it from comin but my bf was like thats not pee imma get the doctor lol... Idk if this help but thats what happened with me.. Hope u get more info n congrats n best wishes
