How warm should the house be for baby?

Weird question, but my husband and I like a cold house. Even over the winter we only keep it at 65° because I overheat way too easily, and in the summer I keep the windows open at night and the multiple AC's on. I HATE the heat and I hate being overheated. Obviously it can't be that cold in the house when Aidyn comes in July. So how cold is too cold?

We keep the house at 69 degrees & I was told that's a fine temperature (I live in FL & am due in July). You just want the baby to wear one more clothing article than what you feel comfortable in. Like I'm comfortable in a pair of long pants and a tshirt, so baby can wear the same plus socks.

My friends had a baby and they keep their house at a constant 68 degrees or cooler. They just have her in a sleeper or swaddled her when she was little. But babies acclimate to the temperature. Anytime she goes to someone's house that's warmer than hers she screams and sweats until you take off her layers. My nephew is the exact same way. Everyone in the family always swears he has a fever. And I just want to scream, no it's because you keep your house so damn hot!

We never messed with the thermastat with our daughter and won't with our son. We just kept her in a sleeper, mittens, and a light blanket until she started sweating at a few months old then just a sleeper that was almost 3 years ago and now she goes to bed in just panties because she is "to hot" to sleep with clothes on she says. We keep it around 60-65 in our house at night and 70 during the day. The only downside is whenever she is at somebodies house that is above 70 she wants to start striping her clothes off because it's to hot in her mind to wear them.

Some babies are hot natured so they prefer cold. Just have a nice stock of footed sleepers and long sleeve onesies in case she's chilled. Other than that I don't think a cold house is a concern.

Good question! We like our house on the cooler side too. Heat and constant air flow bothers my husband. I rather snuggle up to get warm. With the baby we will have to do whatever it takes :) even if in we have to have the heat on at night when it gets cold.

Uugghh that was such a hard thing to get used to when we had our first. If the house was over 66/67* I'd feel like i was melting. I think 70* is good enough :)

Our house is generally 55-59f and we have no heating upstairs, and just a fire in the front room and aga in the kitchen. The house is massive and always cold. 
My midwife said its fine and healthy for the baby.
