Obese?

Question

So i was looking at my paperwork they give me after my doctor appts as too what was diagnosed that visit etc. Well i came across something that made me almost cry. That visit apparently they wrote obesity complicating pregnancy. Really am i really that fat? Im about 5'2 or 5'3 weighing 177 lbs at almost 16 weeks pregnant. About my weight before i got pregnant. I havent gained any weight. Am i really that Obese??😢😢

I don't think there's an issue unless your doctor discussed it with you, which doesn't sound like the case. I'm sure it's based on the bmi chart, like offers said. I recently read somewhere that those charts are a bunch of crap.

It's on every single one of my papers when I leave from the doctor's office and on my online papers it always says maternal obesity or some s*** like that Im 5'0 and I weigh 145 I have gained zero pounds since I've been pregnant and I am 18 weeks tomorrow I hate seeing that on my papers I absolutely f****** hate it but it's that damned BMI calculator don't worry about it girl I'm sure you're beautiful

Maria- the fact that you're worried about it shows you're going to be a good mom. It's a medical term. Don't restrict your diet, whatever you do. Relax, eat well. One day I have brown rice and veggies, eggs, yogurt, and the next I have pancakes and pasta. It's all about balance. Do a lot of walking. You will be just fine. Gaining too much weight during pregnancy can make labor difficult, so just do your best. It's stressful enough!

Its based on your BMI which is a load of crap. Your healthy im sure!! You may want to have a read of this. Thought it might be interesting :)

I am 5'2 and was 187lbs when I got prego. I am now 174lbs..... It's on my paper work as well, as long as the Dr doesn't specificlly address the matter with you, I think it's just something they have to put on there based off the charts!! Your OK mama don't stress it!! <3

Meh... my slim 10yo soon who is 5' and 105 lb is "borderline overweight" on his school papers.  The kid has a baby six pack. Point is,   It's all relative. Also,  muscle weighs more than fat so. ..

I've been "clinically" obese for years but u can't tell by looking at me. Those BMI charts are from ancient times and aren't realistic imo. I'm 18w2d and I've gained about 15-18 lbs and my OBGYN isn't concerned. I've just been eating like a pig and don't hv the energy to work out lol
