How do you make your chicken casserole special? 😉

Question

Tonight I made chicken casserole for supper. I purposely made it a bit bland because my son is just getting over a stomach bug. 😷

Next time I would like to change the way I make and try something new. I know it's just chicken casserole but it seems everyone has a way to add their own twist to it. 
What do you do/add to make your chicken casserole to make it special?

My chicken casserole recipe 
2 cans of diced chicken 
1 can cream of chicken 
1/2 c. Cottage cheese 
1 pouch of instant mashed potatoes 
1 box of chicken flavored stuffing mix
1 stick of butter

Preheat oven to 350F.

Mix chicken, cream of chicken, cottage cheese together and spread in bottom of 8x11 pan. 
Cook mashed potatoes according to package directions and layer on top of chicken mixture. 
Melt butter and stir in stuffing mix just until moistened. Spread over potato layer. 
Place in oven for 25-30 minutes or until heated through.

Perfect for a busy week night supper.

I make mine with egg noodles, chicken, green peppers and onions, cream of mushroom soup, all mixed together. Topped with tons of mozzarella cheese 😍 its so yummy.

It's also good to switch out the chicken for tuna every now and then. I use egg noodles, cream mushroom soup, pea and carrot mix (or sometimes broccoli), and for the crust on the top I crumble ritz crackers and a few slices of butter over the top so it gets all crispy. Extra pepper and salt of course.
