Is it ok to feed newborn while they're on their stomach?

My son is a little over a month and he usually sleeps on his stomach next to me. I know it's recommended that they sleep on their backs but I keep close eyes on him & everytime he moves I hear it, wake up, & see which direction he goes. Sometimes when he wakes up we do the first two feelings while he's still laying on his stomach bc he just goes right back to sleep instead of picking him up & waking him completely up. He usually burps on his stomach & we just pat his back there until he does. Is this ok? We pick him up every other time to bond of course but like maybe once or twice if it's super early in the morning we just keep him there bc he wakes up every 2 hours to eat.
