What is a natural miscarriage like?

Started spotting last night. The baby died almost two weeks ago and my body has finally recognized it. What should I expect? I read all these stories online about people seeing their dead baby in the toilet, others who just have a really heavy period. Some who say the cramps are more like labor contractions and hurt so bad, others that say it wasn't painful. I'm sure it's different for everyone, but what was yours like? I'm very nervous!!

I passed a TON naturally at 10 weeks (measured 6) the day before my miscarriage. Which wound up being better because the D&C wasn't as invasive.

But my God; I wish it hadn't happened at work. I felt like a "plop" in my underwear and before I could make it to bathroom this mass just came out. I would say about a cup of jello like clots. It happened a couple more times that day, not as much though. Then I went for ultrasound. They said I passed lots, but still needed D&C.

Being in the hospital sucked I won't lie, the following days sucked. Bleeding sucked for 7 days after. But we had sex after (with condoms til my period came ugh) and now we are waiting on a BFP. My period came exactly 4 weeks after D&C and I ovulated.

Life does not just "go on". You have to do things that make you happy. I can be running and dancing one second, and crying the next. But I've learned how strong my husband and I are. I almost appreciate that this happened because I have so much understanding and respect for other women now who've been through it.

One nurse said to me "there's truly no explaining it. That's why babies are called miracles" ❤️

It's different for everyone and I was just like you - anxious, nervous, confused. I found out at my first 9wk ultrasound that the baby stopped growing at 6weeks. I found out on 2/1 and started spitting 2/2. I spotted brown/red for about a week with minor cramping on and off. I was frustrated because I didn't know when "it" was going to happen or what "it" was. I didn't know if there was going to be a moment I know it passed or just a heavy period. Finally, 2/7 I started bleeding like a period and had some worse cramping. In the middle of the night 2/8 I had the worst cramps of the experience (not awful, but def the most painful I had through the whole experience). And honestly, it did feel like what I anticipate is contractions because it felt like they were coming in very quick waves. I laid on the floor and took deep breathes for about 5 min, went to the bathroom and "something" came out that felt like just a pretty big clot. I personally flushed right away and didn't look. After that, it was about a week of a heavier period. Normal/moderate cramping that went away with ibuprofen and heating pad. I'm SO sorry you're going trough this, but trust me when I say you will make it through and it gets easier. Prayers!!

I was 8 weeks pregnant. And miscarried. It was the worse pain I've ever been in. I had been spotting for 2 weeks. And the doctor kept a close eye on me and the baby.  And then one day I started to get nauseous. And I got so weak. I started gushing blood and almost passing out. I was taken to the  ER. I felt like I had to push, and I bled ALOT. I was having extremely bad contractions. I didn't eat for 3 days. And I couldn't get comfortable at all. After 4 days I got to come home from the hospital. I had a really bad miscarriage. I stopped bleeding a week after. It was the most excruciating pain!

I never slowly started bleeding, I started to contract one day and then all of the sudden a huge gush came out and ran to the bathroom and saw my baby in my underwear, I went the hospital and they said I should stop bleeding in 2 weeks. For the next 2 weeks I was bleeding really heavy with huge clots, I went to the hospital a couple times during then because the bleeding was just unatrually heavy and a month went by and I was still heavily bleeding so I ended up having to get blood, it's been over 2 months and I'm still bleeding but it's very light. It's different for everyone though, hopfully you won't go through as much as I did.

I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks. I had spotting and went to hospital. They told me the babies heart rate was less than half of what it should be, and I was measuring small. That was the first and last time I got to hear my babies heart. I went to my OB the next day and the baby was gone. No more heartbeat. I was bleeding heavily at this point but with no pain. The next day was the most physically painful of my life. I ended up in the hospital on morphine. One of the largest things that came out of me looked like the early stages of a baby. I felt I could see a head and body. It was scary and so sad. All I could think was "I just flushed my dead baby down the toilet." For me it was very painful, but the extreme pain only lasted for about 8 hours.

Its very different for everyone. My MC was so early (about 4 weeks) and so I didn't need a dnc but the pain was the worst pain of ever felt for almost a week and it was just pretty much a heavy and longer period as I bled pretty bad for nearly a month. The hospital gave me a shot or morphine for the pain for the first day and my MIL gave me her last pain pill for the second day and the third day I was on my own and I swore that I was gonna die from all the physical and emotional pain. By far the most traumatic thing I had ever experienced and I was just very thankful that I knew about my babies a distance before I lost him or her and I'm thankful that I wasn't father along and I only got to enjoy being pregnant for 2 days.

I spotted for about 24 hours, then woke up to the worst cramps of my entire life and was gushing blood. I continued to bleed very heavy for about three hours and then passed the gestational sac (fully intact) and then the placenta. I then bleed like a normal period for about 3-4 days.
 I was ten weeks.

Mine started with brown spotting and slowly progressed to red blood when I wiped. Then after a day or so I got period like cramps and passed lots of blood and clots. The cramps would come and go, but when they came.. That's when the clots would pass.

I started spotting late last night woke up this morning with heavy bleeding and heavy cramping. Went to the ER and was in really bad pain and more blood with blood clots. The worst was going to the bathroom and seeing my baby laying in the toilet. Ultrasound showed no baby 😭
