New military wife needs advice

Hey guys! So I need alittle advice right now. Me and my husband were high school sweethearts before he joined the military and got shipped away and we recently reconnected and are newly married. So we are both from Washington State but he got stationed in Washington D.C. so in order for us to live together I had to move 3,000 miles away from home, friends, family, ect. I've been here for 2 months now and he bought me a puppy to keep me company while I finish up school but I still feel SO ALONE. He wants a baby on top of everything also, which I'm fine with. He doesn't want me to work while I'm finishing up school so I don't get to stressed out which is nice but how do I make friends here? I'm usually very social and outgoing but for some reason I feel so anxious around new people here, it's a completely different environment and culture? Like how do I open up? Any advice would be appreciate ladies! Thank you(:
