Can I play softball in 1st trimester?

I signed up for co-Ed softball at work when I wasn't pregnant. I am now currently 6 1/2 weeks and the season starts in 2 weeks. Do you think it will be ok to play? My husband doesn't want me to play and when I go to the doctor next week I will ask her, but wanted to know what your thoughts were.

My friend played soccer all the way into her 5th month. The doctor told her it was fine! She stopped playing once the ball hit her on the side of the stomach. Scared the hell out of us all

My OB just told me yesterday that I'll want to avoid sports that involve lunging or launching movements like softball, football, volleyball, etc.

I wouldn't play. I played for years but I don't know how to not play my hardest, I'm far too competitive 😂 so I just stay away. There are too many unpredictable things that can happen to cause injury to you as well.

They say to keep your activity level the same, but sports like softball are a different story, if you get hit with a ball, fall, any number of things it could be bad news. I wouldn't play if it were me.

I'm 10 weeks and still mountain biking. 👍🏼 They say if it's an activity you did readily prior to pregnancy, it's something you can continue to do through your pregnancy.  Just be cautious. You know, no sliding into home. 😉

I stopped playing soccer once I found out I was pregnant. My doctor suggested "no contact sports" which I'm okay with because we worked really hard to get this baby (using fertility drugs). I'm still continuing to run and going to Bootcamp twice a week! Just not soccer until after the baby! I can control what I do on the field but I can't control what other people do on the field! So, I'm playin' it safe! I would think Softball would be fine though! Good luck!

I never played softball before (this is something I wanted to do with my co-workers) but I'm starting to think it may just be a good idea to cheer in the bleachers. I just feel bad because they needed so many girls to make it a co-Ed team and if they loose me I may screw everything up... 😕
