Testing to early?

I am 11dpo and the app told me to test today I took an equate test but it came back negative. Should I still wait and test again or should I just call it as I'm not pregnant. My hopes are getting put down every test I take. My period is due in 3 days, should I wait to see if I get it to test again or test again tomorrow cause I went and got a clear blue digital today.
