Hypothyroidism bad bloodwork
Okay so I have hypothyroidism. Diagnosed at 16 (28 now) I have had issues with taking the Meds on and off for various reasons since diagnosis. Mostly just being young and stupid. The past year or two I have really been struggling with my metformin. I was taking one a day for quite some time but the bloodwork wasn't good enough so it got upped to two. Still wasn't good about 6 months ago so dr upped me to 4 pills a day. Dude. I can't handle it. The metformin already tears my stomach up at 2 a day much less 4! I tried and tried to get past it but I just couldn't. I got bloodwork done to check on things since my husband and I are ttc and my results weren't good at all. I knew they wouldn't be good but at least now I know why I haven't gotten preg yet. Insulin was in the 40s. Tsh was 5.4. Cortisol was elevated too. I've read about slow release metformin and I'm gonna ask my dr to try it. Hoping I can get this under control so that I can have babies. Anyone else had these sorts of issues with bloodwork? If so how long did it take to get levels in order and/or pregnant? Thanks for all replies!
