Baby Bumpers??

Question

So what's this whole controversy with baby bumpers? I'd love to know because I'm a ftm and wouldn't want to make a mistake with something. Please let me know :)

Mesh bumpers are the way to go. Normal bumpers can cause suffocation where as the mesh ones are breathable so no harm comes to baby :)

The solid ones can be a suffocation hazard. If you're really worried about baby getting an arm or leg stuck through the bars, they make mesh bumpers.

We never used a bumper with my first. 19 months in her crib and then until 3 with it setup as a toddler bed (so still had some bars) and she got an arm stuck while sleeping maybe 3 times. She fussed, we went in and helped her. It wasn't a big deal.

Personally, I just see bumpers as yet another to wash. ;-)

Here is what the mesh ones look like..safer and better option although not as many colors or patterns..But safety over decor!

I can sew and I'll make breathable bumpers with a piece of cloth. I think it's safe+cheap+stylish

Bumpers can cause suffocation if baby rolls into the thick material and won't be able to breathe..You can look for the mesh ones..We have one and loved it..Its breathable material and its safe to use so it cant cause the baby to stop breathing!
