The cord was wrapped around neck and arm!

I went for my 40 week checkup at 40+1 hoping to have progressed from a fingertip dilated and 20% effaced but there was no change 😪. Dr began to check the heart beat and noticed him pretty excited and In my last two appointments he had shown the same rapid heartrate so I was sent to labor and delivery to get monitored for a longer time. Two hours later the Dr said that heartbeat was accelerating and deceling too extremely and since I was already full term it was better to induce me 😪 i wanted a natural labor and birth and this definitely made me sad but whatever is best for baby! I had cervidil all night which triggered pretty strong contractions and in the morning they began pitocin which was even worse. I made it to level 10 of pitocin until I asked for an epidural which also made me feel like a failure bc I wanted to have an unmedicated birth (make sure you ask for a low dose so you can actually feel when its time to push, it makes all the difference!!). I was still at 4cm and 90% effaced so the Dr broke my water to speed things up and upped my pitocin to 14 at 2:15pm... 30 minutes later I felt pretty strong contractions and the nurse checked my cervix, I was at 6cm. A few minutes later I felt more string contractions and everyone rushed in because the baby's heartbeat had dropped to the 70s!! As the Dr checks me, the nurses start giving me more fluids and sthey stick an oxygen mask on my face. Everyone is getting ready to deliver this baby and my husband thought they were gonna take me to get a csection. At 3:06pm after two contractions our baby boy was born perfectly healthy just a bit blue bc of the low oxygen and the cord being wrapped around his neck and arm twice!!! but recovered quickly! 7lbs 9oz and 20 inches long with an Apgar score of 8 and 9 after 5 mins, latched on like a champ and is a great nurser!! I did have a second degree tear because I had to get him out so fast but I couldnt have asked for a better experience!
