WARNING PIC INSIDE TMI

I am 11 weeks postpartum. Is this normal? I have been feeling really crampy and sick and hurting in my uterus. I have been having colored discharge for days. Sunday the pain was so bad I was doubled over and almost passed out. I went to the doctor and they tested for uti and said I had a really bad infection. Are the two related, colored discharge and uti?
