Has anyone used an outside provider for an ultrasound?

My husband has been deployed for the past month and missed my first OB appointment and ultrasound. He leaves again in late May/early June for seven months. He won't be nearly involved with this pregnancy as we wish he could be. I don't get to have another ultrasound with my doctor until I'm 20wks (I'm 10wk5d currently) so he'll be gone by then. I want to know the gender before he leaves so that we can decide on a name and buy a bunch of things before he goes so I want to go somewhere else for an ultrasound. Has anyone else done this and had a pleasant experience? I'd love to hear people's stories. Thanks in advance!

There's many places where u can go where they last longer than your regular doctor appointment and the setting is different and more relaxed and they spend more time making it a joyful experience. If he's leaving soon I suggest just do it. It'll be a great way for the both of you to bond before having to part ways

I did for both a gender reveal and a 4D scan a bit later on. They made me and my partner feel extremely welcome and it was lovely to see our little girl up on a big screen wiggling around. It is Deffo worth the money. I loved mine 😃

We did at 13w 3 days and it was the first appointment my so has gone to. We got to watch her drink fluid on the big screen in the room and they told us the gender. Things became very real for him as he got to see her move around, especially after they told us it was a girl and I couldn't stop laughing because he turned white and kept muttering "karma has gotten me". Well worth the $85

Motherhood ultrasound you can know the gender as early as 13 weeks you can check online it should be there and they have 99% accuracy

I had a great experience going to an outside ultrasound place. It was a lot more personal than my ultrasounds at my dr's office.

I did it twice once when I was 14 weeks and then next when I was 16 found out the gender at the first one and was confirmed at the second I am 19 weeks 4 days I will be going to my anatomy scan on Tuesday  at 20 weeks 2 days I enjoyed both ultrasounds and they were super relaxing and fun

I know they have a place called Becoming Mom spa where I am that does early gender scans for around $100 one of my friends went and she loved it. maybe they have something like that in your area.

My husband is station in Hawaii and there's a civilian radiology clinic here I heard it's like $150-$200 for an ultrasound. I'm sure they have something similar where you are but I know it can be done at least... Lol
