Ovulation tests?

I just started using this all the beginning of this month. I added my last period but I'm not 100% sure on the days, but I'm close. I stopped my hormonal BC April 1st. My chart on here said I should of already ovulated but when I tested in that time frame I got a negative with just the control line. I just tested again & got a negative but it had two lines this time. Does that mean I'm closer to ovulation or is it just the test?
