Clingy baby

Skyla
I know it's normal for babies to want to be held and all. But when does it become considered clingy or excessive?! My baby girl is 6 weeks old. And literally wants to be held 24/7. She can be fast asleep in my arms and as soon as I even attempt to lay her down she starts crying. But stops as soon as I pick her up. Or if she's laying in her crib awake she will last maybe 5 min before she starts screaming. I just feel like at some points it's just her being extra clingy. Save me the whole "she was in your belly for 9 months" speech lol just wondering if I should be doing anything different before she starts making habits of knowing she'll get picked up as soon as she cries
