I also have a question about a birth plan

I am on my 4th but last child but i have sciatica and my last pregnancy i had back labor which im thinking because of my sciatica and it was horrible pain for me, it took them an hour to get my epidural in because the first time they put too short of a needle in my back then took that out and had to out a longer one in, i dont quite have a good support person to stay with me while in labor so not sure i can do it naturally, are there any other pain relief that is almost like an epidural and may i ask any other suggestions. I want this last time to be a good experience as my others were not what i wanted
