Why is the number one threat to woman are straight men

Why are people so ignorant about transgender people using the bathrooms that they identify with. The ignorant people are saying more woman will be raped in the bathroom more crimes will happen. The crimes will happen from stright men. On either end of the spectrum.

In my town a man follow an elderly woman into a public bathroom. He locked the door then proceeded to brutally rape and beat her nearly to death.

If you think a sign dictating one bathroom is for "women" and one bathroom is for "men" is stopping predators from committing crimes you are either naive, obtuse, or simply oblivious to the world around you.
Trans people face far more danger entering into the bathroom that fits their sex (but not their gender )

I don't pay attention to other people in public bathrooms (though I try to avoid them bc they are just gross , public bathrooms that is) lmfao so I don't see the big deal either.

I am sorry but I have an 8 year old daughter and I don't want a man in the bathroom with her.  If it's no big deal why can't they just use the men's bathroom.  I don't care if a man wants to dress like a girl or vise Vera.  That is their busses.  I Do care who is in the bathroom with my child.

If someone is going to go into a bathroom and attack someone, they aren't worried about if they are allowed in there obviosly. Rules and decency are obviously not their concern..... just my two cents though.

exactly! there is no documented case of a trans woman entering a woman's bathroom and assaulting someone in there. every single incident of that happening involved a straight cis male. these law makers and politicians never even cared about rape issues until now. they're just using it to justify their bigotry.

I've read that IF it's made legal for trans persons to use whichever bathroom they identify with, that any man could dress as a woman, rape that woman and not get charged with it or something to that bit? It didn't make any sense to me, but personally I've never had an issue with sharing the bathroom with a transsexual. I've been to gay clubs where all the transsexuals went to the ladies restroom, never really thought it was an issue until lately, but that's just me, if a man wants to rape women, he will, he doesn't need a sign to do it.

I personally don't want a man with a penis who looks like a woman in the bathroom with me or my kids and yes there are stalls but it's inappropriate and I'd rather piss outside on the side of my car than with a trans person

I live in charlotte. I'm horrified that the governor overturned what was voted for here. I know a Transgender person who cannot be considered male looking. Firstly, most women are ok with this over men I know. Most Transgender are not looking to hit on people in bathrooms and deserve to feel safe.  Furthermore,  the bathroom issue included men taking daughters to pee and women taking their sons. Adults taking elderly parents. The bathroom issue got blown put of proportion. Ignorant people.

I'm not worried about transgender people attacking me or other women. I'm worried about straight men coming in to women's bathrooms and attacking women.

It's hard enough to convict men of sexual assault, allowing anyone into any bathroom opens the door for defense attorneys to say "my client identifies as a female, so they used the women's bathroom. They wouldn't assault a woman because they are attracted to men" it can be a complete lie and he walks away.
