New to this

First time mom over here. my son is 6 days old and we're breastfeeding. Both my nipples have cracked, so things are rather painful at the moment. I've met with our lactation consultant and she says I was mostly doing things right, she adjusted my positioning a bit and says we have a good latch. So if I'm doing things right is it weird that I'm still cracking? I'm to the point I'm kinda dreading our next feeding :(
