Single mom needing advise!!

So I'm a single mother to be and I still don't know what I'm having. I am in a really weird spot right now and I don't know if I should start buying the bigger items such as a crib or if I should wait until after my baby shower. I'm afraid if I wait that long then I won't have anything because I don't know if anyone will really get me anything. Can someone please help me figure this out because it stresses me out and it scares me. 😖😩
