Mucas plug question. (No pic)

Hey twin mama's! Sorry this is kinda long but need some help. I'm coming up on 32 weeks and been having some light discharge. Nothing the dr has been concerned about. I had an appointment on Wednesday where I found out I am 1 cm dilated. Besides the occasional braxton hicks I haven't had any other signs of contractions. Well last night around 1130 pm I was in terrible pain. Lots of pressure. My husband started timing contractions until 3am. Nothing that was consistent. So we went to bed. I went to bathroom about 1 hour ago and my mucas plug came out with blood. I called dr office and again they were not too concerned. With my first pregnancy (singleton) when this happened he came 2 weeks later. He was a premie born at 34 weeks. Should I be preparing myself for labor anytime soon? What were your experiences? I'm pregnant with di/di boys so really looking for a twin mom's point of view. Thanks!!!!!
