Birth plan

I'm a FTM. I am 23 weeks and starting to do some planning and a little more research (breastfeeding tips, infant care, birthing classes etc). Everything I see mention of a birth plan to be honest I get confused. Both my husband and I are medical professionals so my thought is I want to do what is best for the baby which I trust the doctor and nurses to recommend. I understand planning if you want drugs or natural birth but that's all I can seem to think of with a birth plan. Am I missing something? Thanks everyone!
