delivery day, visitors?

just wondering what people's thoughts are on visitors on delivery day outside of parents? everytime I think about it I think I'd like JUST parents. I worry if I have too many visitors it'll work up my anxiety. so I'm thinking is just us ... but in the past with friends I've gone to see their baby that day. so I don't want anyone to be like hurt or mad or anything ... so not sure what to do or tell people!?

Me and my husband have talked a lot about this. We don't want any visitors. Especially if I end up having a c section. I'll be recovering and I can imagine I'll be worn out. My family thinks I'm crazy and doesn't understand. This is our first baby. My baby, nobody else's. She our little miracle that we've been so excited to meet and we want to share the experience of being new parents together. He will have to go back to work way sooner than me too and will want maximum time with her as possible. If they want to visit they can come see us when we get home.

I was too tired with my first, baby came at 1:04 am. So we didn't have anyone until around noon and it was only our parents and grandparents.

Everyone is different. Our son was born really early in the morning on a Saturday. I didn't say no visitors, but by the time they came we were all settled and I had time to get a shower. (Trust me you will want one asap!) Besides my parents no one stayed too long. Maybe 30 minutes at the most. So that didn't seem to bad. But if you are concerned you could definitely set a time frame for when you want visitors. There's nothing wrong with that.

I say do what you're comfortable with! Ultimately it's your decision and your family and friends should respect it.

My husband and I have decided only immediate family... So our parents and siblings. We definitely want a few hours alone before we have anyone come. I've already had friends ask about coming to see me but I've politely told them what we decided and they've been ok with it. Things could always change and won't know until you're actually in the situation... Who knows maybe you'll want more visitors! But definitely give people a heads up beforehand on your initial wishes.

I am sure I will allow any visitors to come visit, however there is one woman in particular I do not want to come. Her kids were in my wedding and it was a shit show. They were there before I even was to get ready, running around, spilling food everywhere playing with my white dress with chocolate fingers and their mother wasn't doing anything. We wound up making them leave until the ceremony. Like I said, I am sure I'll let them come cause I do love the kids I just might mention that her boyfriend has to be there because he actually takes control.

yea this is our first baby and I just want us to be able to relax after and not be over whelmed [husband has a big family] ... so I hope it can stand my ground on how I feel and everyone will be ok with it ... husband as well.

I am only having my parents and my in laws no one else. I want to bond with my baby. And also have my husband bond as well. Especially since I'll be trying to breast feed really don't want to have too many people coming in touching her just yet.

I love having my family come around as soon as possible. I've have a four year old & two year old, this is my third. Most people don't stay long. My parents, my husband parents, one of my sisters, my best friend, my husband's brother & wife were all in the waiting room and came in right after. I love having them there. My sister didn't want anyone but the parents and in laws to come to the hospital (not during the birth but after) and then the siblings & extended family could come over once they were home. Each person is different. It's truly your choice and how you feel. Don't worry about hurting people's feeling, they'll understand if you want alone time.

My mom is watching my daughter during labor and recovery so I definitely want them to come. My daughter needs to meet her brother. 
My sister might come also. She is a nurse so I have no concerns about her visiting. Everyone else lives 2000 miles away so I'm not worried.

I'm barely having parents visit.. Actually only my mother and aunt will be in town to visit. And this is our first child. I cannot imagine having anyone besides parents visit. I never go to hospitals to visit new born babies/parents. Too many germs and everyone is tired and wants their space and time.
