90 with new car

So I saw this probably close to 90 year old driving a brand new Honda Accord. Now the guy probably isn't a millionaire... Maybe he has some money set back but still that is a nice car. It's not like he's a billionaire with five luxury vehicles etc. so the over practical side of me wondered... Why would a very elderly gentleman purchase a brand new and pretty expensive car? Do you think it's because he knows he won't be around much longer ️so said to himself he wanted a nice car? Do you think it's so he has something nice to leave behind to family? A part of me wondered why not just buy a used decent vehicle to get you through your last few years of life. Why the big purchase? Just wondering what others think lol.
