Is he too small for this car seat?

This is my friends child. I covered his face to respect their privacy. This little boy just turned 2 in January. I feel like he's too young for this type of seat. But she's the type of person to take everything offensively when I mention it. Please help I need advice on how to help.

I fully understand each state has different laws and regulations with car seats but quite honestly its commen sense. This child is certainly too small to be in this car seat. In the event of a road accident the child wouldnt stand a chance. I am a paramedic and have been to many a road accidents which have been devasting outcome when sadly it neednt be if parents addressed their childs seat appropiately. I wouldnt give a damn about her ignorance, id personally tell her outright and firmly this could save this childs life god forbid something happend. You could ask the police to speak to her especially if against the law in this state or her parents. It needs addressing before its too late.

My step daughter was squished in the 5 point harness when she was 2 and she fits perfectly in this type of booster as long as the seatbelt is run through the guides by the headrest. She's three now and is in 5T/6 clothes...she's tall and bigger (not chunky) for her age...my niece on the other hand is the same age and she is still rear facing as she is super tiny. Judge away but my step daughter had to arch her back for her shoulders to be low enough for the highest 5 point harness setting which doesn't sit right with me...go with how the child is size-wise...

That is a booster seat, not a car seat. A 2 year old absolutely needs to be in a 5 point harness and is really safest rear facing. If you can't say anything to your friend call the police. That child's safety is paramount.

Who cares what the LAW says!!!!! It doesn't mean that kid is safe, if he is only 2, he could most definitely still be in a 5 point harness, the safest thing would be for him to stay in a 5 point until he outgrows the weight/height requirement (whichever comes first!) THEN he would go into a HBB *high back booster* this is seriously so unsafe and if an accident were to happen, it would be catastrophic, not only because he is too small for a HBB, but you can clearly see if he were to be buckled in that the seat belt would not even come close to being in the correct position across his chest/shoulder! I have a 3 yo and she is still CONFORTABLY sitting RearFacing. Please asks the parents of this child to add themselves to (Car seat Safety) it's a Facebook page and has CERTIFIED car seat technicians that can help with questions!

That is a high-back booster and I would not put my two-year-old in that. A child must meet height and weight requirements in order to use that seat.

Actually each state has different laws about it. I live in Florida, and that would be acceptable, but in Georgia you'd get a big fine.

My youngest son is almost 3 and he's still in the car seat above the carrier. My oldest son didn't get his big boy car seat (booster with the back like in the picture) until he was 4. He will be 5 this year. The way I do it is they use it til they're too big for the straps then they move up.

Yes, two is way too young for a booster. My son stayed rear facing until he was 3.5. I'm a big fan of anything that could prevent internal decapitation.

He is my son is 3 he has one similar but his has a harness it goes by Height and weight. But what can you do it's not your kid. When she gets pulled over and gets a big ticket should be sorry
