Menstrual cup? Diva cup? 🤔

Hey ladies, this may b a dumb question but I've seriously never heard of such a thing lol. Explain plz? 🤔 what are these diva cup/ green cup things I keep hearing about? And how are they used?

Menstrual cups are this cup shaped things made of silicon or TPE. You fold them, put them in your vagina, inside they pop open and they catch all your menstrual fluid. 12 hours later you take them out, empty them, rinse them and put them back in. At the end of your cycle you sterilize them by boiling them, using alcohol or vinegar or something (personal choice), store them in a cloth bag (generally comes with the cup) and they are ready for next time. They are comfy, ecological and save you tons of money, not related  to TSS and hold much more than tampons and pads.

They're a game changer. I hate the feeling of a tampon but I don't even notice the cups up there. I found this video really useful when I was deciding to get one, watch it to understand how the cup works and why you don't really feel it, if you find the right one for your shape it should be sitting in what would be an empty space inside you and thus it's comfortable. I was lucky and my first purchase - organicup fits great. No more wasting money on period products or adding them to landfill. You pop the cup in and I check mine 2-3 times a day when I'm on the loo. You just take it out, pour the gore into the loo, rinse it under a tap and pop it back it. I like to sterilise mine by boiling it for 3-5mins at the end of each period. The best thing I've discovered is that my period is so invisible now, I can swim, do sports and even have oral sex whilst on and no one, not even me, knows the difference

It is meant to be folded up and inserted, and when inserted correctly you will have no leakage or discomfort. Many people swear by them, myself included. They are also incredibly cost effective.
