Numb vagina?

Recently when my so and I have been having sex no matter how wet I am it hurts and then I go numb and can't feel anything and then it hurts really bad again at the end. I feel like I've been ripped when we finish. I've been letting him finish or doing it to him but I don't know why I'm feeling like this. We're going to try to use lube tonight and if it still hurts I guess I'll try to go to my doctor. I just feel awkward talking to anyone about this but I can't keep hurting like this.
