So this week we found out we're having a little girl :)

Absolutely over the moon!

Although my mother in law wanted and was convinced we would have a boy.

We mentioned a couple of names to her before we knew the gender. One of the girl names was Ella.

Now we know we're having a girl she keeps calling the baby Ella. I've told her it's not a name we are set on yet.

I mentioned yesterday that we like the name Ivy. She instantly took a disliking to it. She messaged me this morning to tell me she'd discussed the name with some family members and they think of poison ivy. She also said if me and my partner are thinking of different names other than Ella then we should consider Isabella so we can shorten it to Ella.

I told her that she's really upset me and it's not her choice to name our baby, I know she's excited and trying to be helpful with suggestions but when it's negative for a name me and my partner like it's really upsetting. Ultimately it's our choice! She's now saying how upset she is about the whole thing and making it out like I'm being really rude.

I'm feeling a bit deflated by it all and just wanted to rant :(
