Tdap shot?

I dont know whether to get the shot or not?

I have a strict "no vaccines during pregnancy rule." There are not enough studies on the long term effects on babies. I am getting it in the hospital, though.

I never have (this is my 4th baby) and it's not offered here in Canada (although only SOME OB's are starting to). I don't trust it, as there's not enough research done on the long term effects it has on a baby in utero that's still developing the brain and neuro pathways. My OB is very against it. All my babies have been healthy and fine, if you're that concerned get it after baby is born

I got mine!! If it wasn't safe it wouldn't be so highly recommended. I am a huge advocate of  vaccinations. By you getting the TDap you are passing immunity on to the baby to protect him or her till they can get their shot when they are 2 months old I believe. The biggest thing is pertussis or the P in Tdap. Pertussis can kill an infant and anyone who will be in close and often contact providing care should be strongly encouraged to get a Tdap. Sorry for the long reply but vaccinations are kind of my soap box.

For the love of Pete. Talk to your doctor and look at OB and hospital policies. My OB staff and the hospital require the TDAP but my area has an increase in Pertussis.

My husband and parents have also gotten it and my in-laws are being hard headed about it.

I got mine.  Hurt like crazy for a week afterwards!  I also got my flu shot, and a few months later got the flu.

I got mine at 29 wks to help pass some antibodies to my baby since a vast majority of our family won't get their boosters.

It's your choice, but I rather be more safe than sorry.
