When to see a doctor after positive HPT

Question

How soon did you see a doctor after your last period? My last period started April 3rd. Is it too soon for me to see a doctor tomorrow? I scheduled an appointment for tomorrow but I'm starting to think that the woman misunderstood me about when my last period was.

I was 6 weeks but I had a previous miscarriage so I had special circumstances. Usually they reccomend 8 weeks at the earliest. Good luck and congratulations!

I didn't get an appointment until week 9. I think it's a little early to go in now just bc they can't  really tell you much or see much at such an early date. I waited (even though the waiting sucked) bc I didn't want to be worried if the ultrasound had trouble picking up the baby. At nine weeks saw the little baby and was super happy :)

Well you can see your dr. right away and then you don't see your ob or midwife until 8-12 weeks. It's still pretty early, but you might be able to get some bloodwork done. I'd call to confirm that they want to see you, even though you're only 4 weeks. My regular dr wanted to see me at 6-7 weeks and then referred me to my ob at 12 weeks.

It depends on the dr. The first dr I was going to see wanted to see my immediately but I had to switch to a different dr because he didn't accept the health insurance I ended up going with. My first appointment was i think at 10 weeks and then they made the appointment for my 1st ultrasound at 12 weeks but the nurse was shocked that it was my first ultrasound. Some women seem to go as early as 6 weeks and even get ultrasounds. It's never too early to start. They can prescribe medicine for the nausea and some of them prescribe prenatal vitamins which may end up cheaper than the ones you buy at the store because of insurance.
