Keeping name secret?

33w0d and I'm starting to get very frustrated with some people (friends, family, etc). I don't know why people think they have ANY SAY in what you and your husband choose to name your child.. For this reason, we've decided to keep the name a secret until birth. Anyone else having people make comments about names that you've shared?

I haven't told anyone because I knew I didn't want their opinions.  What annoys me is all the people suggesting names to me, like THEY get to name my child!

People ask daily if we have a name chosen yet. I just say no, we are still discussing it (even though we have already chosen) and most people just move on in the convo.

This is my 4th baby and we have ALWAYS kept gender and names a surprise until baby arrives. People have been very respectful of that thankfully. But we also don't really give them an option lol😆

Ours is a secret also... And what's even more annoying is that my husbands family knows it's a secret; they say nothing around me but ask him to spill it when I'm not there. Get a life !! 🙈

We have not told anyone. A while back we told the grandparents our short list to see if they had any objections (which they did not). Now we are keeping it to ourselves not because we don't want others opinions but just because it special to have it just between us

Every. Single. Day. My fiancé and I still can't agree on a name and his family has just started calling the baby the name he wants and it makes me vicious. They even wrote it on my shower cards and inside baby books. Like how friggen rude are you!? So now I have vowed over my cold dead body will my baby be named that. NO ONE is going to tell me what in naming my son and I will. It be bullied into it.

We first were thinking of naming her Una, love that name but a lot of people hated it and so hubs and  I started to have second thoughts. So we went with Edith, and used it as the gender reveal...no one has said they don't like it and once they hear the middle name (which is two family names put together) their thoughts of saying anything turn into how much they love it. At this point I don't care about what anyone else thinks, I love the name and have been calling her Edie since we found out the gender :) now just can't wait to meet her :)

We are doing the same thing. We also did this with our son. We didn't tell anyone his name until they came to visit at the hospital. Then once all of our close family and friends knew we put an announcement on Facebook. We will do the same this time unless however our 2 year old spills the beans :). We told him the name to help him adjust, so far he has only said it once with family around but no one caught on!

Yup! With our 3rd we waited, and now our 4th we are waiting until birth to announce the name, and it is sooo much better that way. People are less likely to say negative things about a name after its already official.
