Not intimate during sex?

So me and my husband have been together about 3 years. I'm really happy and I'm sure he's happy too but we just aren't sexual. Like ever. When we have sex, it's never intamite. We talk and laugh through the whole thing. When we have sex we really can't be face to face. Because it becomes this awkward stare down and he starts screaming stop looking at me! Then we start cracking up. We haven't had passionate sex in over a year. I am sexually attracted to him, and he says the same about me. We get along great, but should I be worried? Is this normal, do healthy relationships need that sexual connection?
