Birth control

I had my baby a month ago via c-section. I don't want to have another child right now. I want to wait maybe 2 or 3 years to have another but don't know what birth control method to use. The only protection I have used are condoms. I was thinking birth control pills but I've heard they burn your ovaries is that true ? I became sexually active at 18 with my baby's father who's has been the only man I been with and recently had our baby at 23.
