Gender reveal?

What are your thoughts on mom-to-be finding out the sex at a gender reveal party vs her knowing and just surprising family and friends?

My family loves any excuse for a party but my mom thinks it's weird if I don't find out at the ultrasound and wait until the party. I'm undecided about what I want to do. Mostly I want cake lol!

That's what I'm doing! Here are my thoughts on it: if you even slightly care what gender, finding out early might be best. If you don't get what you want, you have all these extra hormones, a bug surprise, and lots of people watching you. It doesn't mix well. You'll be sad or angry or a mess (or all 3). I have actually been to some where they "just knew" and we're wrong and regretted everyone being there. The hormones weaken the control we have over our emotions. They bawled and yelled and it wasn't pretty.

On the flip side, I really don't care. One moment I want girl, the next I want boy. But really, I genuinely just care that it gets here and stays healthy and safe. We have suffered so many losses that we gave up caring about gender a long time ago. For me, I can't wait to share the moment with friends and family. I want to celebrate 20 weeks of pregnancy (yes, we're waiting that long. We could have found out this week, but there wasn't any time for a party with my hubby's work). I want an excuse to eat good food and celebrate and to build up to the surprise. I don't think the surprise would be as amazing if I knew first.

I think people like the surprise aspect of finding out with everyone else. I personally can't stand the thought of waiting. 😂 I'm the kind of person that barely makes it until Christmas to exchange gifts.

I did the gender reveal my mom was the only one that new we got two sets of washable paint pink and blue. I wore a white t shirt me and my BF were blindfolded and my mom guided my BF hands to the color we were having and he placed his hand print on my belly then we took blind fold off. It's was so fun and now I have the t short that has my BF hand print right over the baby it was precious. We also had out close family and friends over when they came in they had to pick a cup pink or blue to make there guess and that's what they drank out of. Here is a pic
