Spotting while on Nuvaring

So I've been using nuvaring for about 6 months now.. The past 2 months I've been doing the continuous cycle with leaving it in for 3 weeks then taking it out and putting a new one in immediately. Last month I had no spotting during the week that would have been my period week if I had left it out. However, this month I started spotting and have been for 3 days. It isn't heavy like a period just a little heavier than spotting. I used to be on the patch and tried skipping my period but I ended up having it for like a month 😑 so I'm hoping this isn't what's happening with the ring. My question is if this has happened to anyone else and what they think. This Saturday is my change day so should I just leave it out and have a period week or continue the way I have been and hope it stops? Lol
