Spotting

Okay, so I recently found out I'm pregnant and now I'm 7wk4days and today would've more than likely be the day I would have gotten my period. Started light spotting but everytime I wipe it's very light pink. And I am cramping as if my period is trying to start. I'm a little concerned, my 1st prenatal isn't until Wednesday. My mom says I should be resting and laying down, but I am a nervous wreck because I've had a miscarriage before and I'm a bit scared. Anyone had these issues?
