How do I tell her to break up with him?

Long story short, I have a friend and I can't stand her boyfriend. He doesn't treat her well, and she constantly complains to me about how unhappy she is but she won't break up with him. How do I tell her she should end the relationship?

When my friend was in a relationship with a guy who was progressively getting to the abusive stages, she refused to listen to me for a while about how horrible he was being towards her. But that didn't stop me from expressing my opinion every time she complained about him. I told her what I thought and how I felt, but I also told her it was her choice. (She's not with the guy anymore... She finally got her mind right.) I'd say be straight forward with her how you feel about the boyfriend and the situation, but remind her that you're not trying to control her relationship, you're only trying to help.

My cousin had a really crazy boyfriend last Christmas, he was on drugs and just a bad influence. He was very abusive and controlling and after he tried to cut my cousin's thumb off my mom set his loser ass on a train out of Idaho. My advice is to strike while the iron is hot.
