What do I do about prenatal vitamins?

What do I do if both prenatal pills and gummies make me sick? I haven't taken a pill since my first trimester because I switched to the gummies and now the gummies make me sick. So I took a break from them & I haven't taken them in a week and some days. I TRIED to take a pill but the smell made me sick before I could even take it, so I ate one of my gummies instead, & just like that, I threw it right back up :( what am I supposed to do when the pill AND gummy doesn't work for me? I don't wanna cause any harm to my baby (18w6d)

I don't take prenatal vitamins. & the doctors are actually impressed with how well my daughter is developing. My mom also didn't take them while pregnant. They made us sick. It's not gonna kill you or the baby if you don't take them. Y'all have to remember that women did this stuff back in the old days without doctors, medicine & all this high tech stuff.

If they are making you sick and you can't take them, just don't. If you are eating a balanced diet- prenatals aren't necessary, especially that far into the second trimester. Folic acid is the most important in the 6 months before pregnancy and the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. At 18 weeks, your baby is basically developed and is focusing on growing in size. Prenatal vitamins weren't even a thing until the mid 80s and babies were just fine.

Have you tried taking them in the evening? I had a hard time taking mine so I tried the CRMA trick and put my pill on a spoon with applesauce or yogurt and that seamed to help. 
If all else fails call your doctor and talk to them, maybe they have another suggestion.

My sister didn't take them because they made her throw up and same for me.. Here she is now 2 years later with the smartest baby girl ever! She's perfectly fine and my baby is growing just right inside of me.. Not everyone has to take them

Have you tried flintstones children's multivitamins? Otherwise I know they sell folic acid by itself but if you're in second trimester then might not be necessary anymore. Are you eating a healthy balanced diet besides? I'd tell your doctor but chances are your fine.

First of all, I think of the prenatals as vein for mom really. Babies will take every last nutrient they need from your body. They will leach calcium from your bones. It's the power of nature to look out for the next generation. So I take them to protect my health. I am about 50% compliant and can already see the outcome in my skin and hair.

Sometimes they make me ill. I 1) take them in three doses ON TOP of a good meal just before I finish so they are sandwiched in with food. 
2) I take with something other than water, grape soda is good, to mask their flavors/odors. 
3) I wrap them in a piece of American cheese  or even peanut butter. Coat them with something small you can still swallow.

Or don't take them.

I read a post before about a woman who couldnt take prenatals cuz they made her so sick and her dr actually told her to try the flinstones vitamins and they actually worked for her, maybe try those if you really want to
take vitamins
