Brazilian blowout ok during pregnancy?

I had my hair appointment today. I have very thin curly frizzy hair so Brazilian blowouts do wonders for me. I did research and came to the conclusion at was safe to do when pregnant I got it done at 3 months. I'm 5 1/2months now I went back to the same salon same hair stylist and he told he could not do it because I was pregnant. I'm not very confrontational so I said ok and left. But now I'm feeling so sad, confused and embarrassed. Why would he do it at 3 months but not 5 1/2 ( he knew I was pregnant at 3 months also) I will see my doctor tomorrow and ask him about it. But I was just wondering if any of you ladies that are hairstylists know if it's OK to get a Brazilian blowout when pregnant.

All the hairdressers have told me no. Maybe he asked somebody or they changed their brand or policy. I usually get a keratin and I'm frustrated I have to go without it during the summer.

Now he's trying to cover his ass because he shouldn't have gave you the treatment at 3 months at all because of the formaldehyde but I mean luckily he did say no because obviously you didn't know so no more keratin Brazilian Blowout I'm sorry. There's some stuff I can't do with my hair anymore either so I just keep it braided and I love it you'll find something that will work for you

I am a licensed cosmetologist, licensed barber and I also have my instructors license. Brazilian blowouts are unsafe for pregnancies if you the client or the stylist. I'm 20 weeks and I can not assist when the students are doing Brazilian blowouts on their clients. Then chemicals are unsafe. Your stylist should have known better the first time just like he knew the second time. When stylists learn these new products they have educators from the product lines that come in and go over EVERYTHING  about the product. Please be on the safe side and let your doctor know. Also if you know the product brand google it and the ingredients should be listed and take a print off with you to your appointment.

I doubt you can because of the formaldehyde .... I had a Brazilian blowout long time ago and it RUINED! My hair it was like too strong I guess and my hair never returned back to its curly state and it started breaking off bad it was horrible I had to get it cut out.... Idk how people get these still

He definitely made a mistake by doing it at 3 months, you should not be getting them while pregnant, they are harmful even when you are not pregnant. Many salons refuse to do them period because they are so toxic, some states even ban them.

That's kinda weird. If anything I would think it's not ok at 3 months and is ok at 5. Then again, God forbid anything happened he wouldn't want to take responsibility and ya can't really blame him for it. My hairdresser said she could dye in the 2nd but not the 3rdtrimester because it's too much sitting and pressure.
