Does anyone know how long doctors keep ultra sounds and stuff?

Jessica
I'm sure this is weird, but I lost my baby 5 years ago in March. I realize it's a really long time, but I regret that I have no pictures or anything. I had two ultra sounds. I should have been 14 weeks, but the baby didn't grow past 6. We weren't supposed to have an ultra sound or appointment for 4 more weeks, but I started spotting and called. It was a roller coaster of emotion because at first they said the baby was smaller than expected, but the bleeding was above the baby. Then they decided there was no heart beat. They wanted me to take pills because I was sick, but I didn't want to do it myself so I had a d&c. They told me before the surgery not to make major decisions for 24 hrs and then after the surgery they asked me all the questions about what to do with the remains and death certificates and stuff. It was awful. I would have answered those questions very differently had I been thinking clearly. I've thought many times about calling and asking about the ultra sound picture, but I didn't want to seem crazy :-/. So I never did, but it's something I still wonder about to this day.
